Our faith is over 2000 years old...
Our thinking is not.
All are welcome to join us on Sunday mornings. Bridgeport UCC is intentionally inclusive of those who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning. We believe that we are all created in God's image, so we celebrate who you are, wherever you are on life's journey. We encourage you to come with your questions, your doubts and your curiosities.
Sunday Morning at Bridgeport UCC
Worship time: 10:30 a.m.
Worship begins at 10:30am and usually ends around 11:45am. Fellowship time immediately follows worship. Childcare is available.
What to expect when you come
Bridgeport members and friends come from a variety of religious and spiritual backgrounds. On Sunday morning, some people will be dressed in shirts and ties or dresses or skirts, and others will be in jeans.
We serve coffee and tea during worship. Feel free to make yourself a cup before finding your seat.
Our worship style is a blend of traditional and contemporary. Because we are a theologically diverse congregation, we don't expect every element of worship to connect with every person equally. Hopefully, each week each person finds something that feeds them. We have some traditional liturgy and music, along with dramatic readings, poetry and presentations on social justice issues.
We're spiritual AND religious and respect each person's individual journey. Our Christian faith is central to our identity as a community and we believe that part of our call as Christian community is to reflect God's love in the world.
We take seriously both the inner work of spiritual development and care, and the outer work of advocating, agitating and organizing. We care deeply about prayer and our call to work for justice. Our members actively work for the freedom to marry, for racial justice and immigration reform.
We hope that you will join us to find out more!
